In the Fall of 2007 Whirlpool corporation asked a group of young designers at the Graduate Industrial Design program at the Art Center College of Design to design visions for fabric care (laundry care) for 2022. In addition to the design deliverables, the company requested an insightful, innovative DVD documentation of the process and outcomes. The result was a designed and produced DVD, which depicted the intricacies of the research and design process as well as the final outcomes. One of the key innovations was treating the DVD interface as web presentation, were one has multitude of options to engage with the content. The narrative was divided on 19 mini segments plus an abbreviated version of the whole narrative. While the DVD was commissioned by Whirlpool corporation, it still had to represent the Art Center and its myriad constituencies.
